I was studying my Japanese book today on the train, and I noticed that the ending -yo means, in Japanese, "I assure you"'re basically making your statement a bit more forceful. In Korean, the ending -yo is a basic level of politeness used in conversation. So I wonder -- do the Japanese think that Koreans are being extra insistent/pushy when they talk?
