Tokyo Game Show!
Well, I suppose that my membership badge can be re-instated, because I managed to get myself to the Tokyo Game Show over the weekend. It was cool, to be sure -- I saw lots of stuff that I didn't know existed, and I got to try out the Xbox 360 briefly, and obtained several colorful fliers. For some reason, though, I just didn't click with a lot of it. Some stuff I didn't have any knowledge of (online horse-racing over your DoCoMo, for example), some stuff I didn't have much interest in (Dynasty Warriors 4 on the XBox 360 looked like anything you'd see on the XBox now, and it's the same dash-into-the-middle-of-stuff button mashing that the other 3 games were). I didn't get to see any PS3s or Revolutions, short of the odd demo here and there. Maybe I just missed some rooms or something. I dunno. I think I might just have to get a new games system when the next generation hits, start to get into it again. Anyway, I did take some pictures (me, and some seriously scary looking guys with multiple cameras around their necks). Bonus Fun: See if you can tell who was cosplaying for fun, and who was being paid to...

Not really Tokyo Game Show related, but they replaced the Super Lisa in Shibuya. It's all shiny and better now.

Ok, this one's easy. You can feel the burning rays of Not Wanting To Be Here.

I got shooed away for taking this picture, but not before taking it. Look, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus! I could see buying that at some point.

TOMY was there!

Probably not there of her own free will entirely, but perhaps she just had a break.

I don't know what this is, but I rather liked the logo.

I entirely bothered these FFVII cosplayers whilst they were drinking sodas. They were very forgiving, though.

I think this is a game where you fly around in an airplane and shoot down bad guys. In 3D.

I dunno what game this was for. Something.

Gravity was shilling for the upcoming Ragnarok II, the sequel to the cutest MMORPG I ever stopped playing.

I think this was a cosplay group for Gundam: Retread. Fun fact! An akiba-kei totally got to the group to take a picture before I did, and showed visible irritation when they didn't line up immediately as they did in his imagination. Odd.

Direct from Raccoon City.

One of the cosplayers, actually. They had them all relegated to the rear exit of the convention hall to avoid congestion. Some really good ones, actually, but my camera battery was dying...

Well, it was pretty cool, anyway.

Word. Awesome that you could actually go. I've been reading that people think TGS is better than E3. I wanted to go last year, but I didn't feel confident in my abilities to navigate Tokyo.
